Training & Education

Every day, beauty professionals build relationships rooted in trust. Clients often share deeply personal experiences, making salons uniquely positioned to offer compassion, support, and hope.

Facing Forward partners with salons to provide practical, salon-specific training that helps beauty professionals recognize the signs of domestic violence, respond appropriately, and connect clients with local resources when needed. In collaboration with domestic violence organizations, our workshops are available in person or virtually and are designed to leave your team feeling informed, confident, and prepared.

Participants will learn how to:

  • Recognize signs of unhealthy or abusive relationships

  • Respond with empathy while maintaining professional boundaries

  • Listen without judgment & communicate with compassion

  • Determine when & how to refer clients to domestic violence resources

  • Protect client confidentiality and prioritize safety

  • Build confidence in responding to difficult conversations

  • Help create a salon culture rooted in awareness, compassion, and trust

Restoring Confidence Through Hair Services

For many survivors of domestic violence, leaving an abusive relationship means starting over. A haircut, color, or deep conditioning service may seem simple, but it can be a powerful step toward rebuilding confidence, restoring dignity, and helping someone feel like themselves again.

Participating salons are invited to donate the complimentary hair services of their choice. These restorative experiences are distributed through our domestic violence partner organizations to the survivors they serve, ensuring the gifts reach those who can benefit most.

Whether your salon chooses to donate one service or several, each act of generosity becomes part of a larger community effort to help survivors move forward with confidence and hope.
